I am exactly 23 weeks today :)

I am laughing at my silly bear running back and forth in front of the camera trying to get into the picture.

Cookie Monster

I gave Nicho his very first chocolate chip cookie tonight. I belly laughed when I saw his face covered in chocolate and had to take a picture. I think I've created a monster being that he really liked his cookie!

Who Needs Privacy?

My 27 month old has decided he needs "privacy" when going to the bathroom...seriously is that normal at this age? He does GREAT at school going potty and does not mind that his teacher is there to help him go potty but when we get home all I see is the door shut right in front of my face when he goes into the restroom. I will open the door to check in on him and offer to help but he will tell me "no" and usually puts his hand out as if trying to tell me "get out!" So, usually I will just stand by the door and peek in to make sure he doesn't fall in because he doesn't use a potty chair or seat. He knows I am there so I will pretend to not look at him even though I am. He even tries to wipe his own bottom--I do step in for that part. I love that he is independent and likes to go potty on his own but sometimes I feel like where did my baby go?

Curiosity Day

Today we went to Book People for Story Time. They were celebrating H.A.Rey's birthday, Author of Curious George. Story time consisted of Curious George books of course and a visit from George himself :) Nicho loves Curious George and was in awe when he saw him. Our camera battery died when we got there so these pics are taken from John's phone. He didn't realize he didn't have the settings right so they are blurry!

Never A Dull Moment

This afternoon we went to see Dr. R for a follow-up appointment...more on that in a bit. While we were waiting to get called Nicho was playing with a magnet table toy in the lobby. He was so into the toy that he realized and said "oh no" (he started to poop). We ran to the closest bathroom where he was able to finish. He is obsessed with flushing the toilet so he grabbed the handle and started pulling it down non stop and then unrolling the toilet paper roll and proceeded to put tons of toilet paper down the toilet eventually flooding the toilet...nice. All this while I am looking through his back pack for new fresh undies. I thought to myself "oh no, how am I going to explain this one to the staff?" while I was thinking of an excuse I was helping him dress and wash up. Miraculously the toilet stopped running, then flushed itself and voila it was fixed. I thought "phew!", they must have some sort of sensor on the toilet that detects clogs or something. Sorry no pics of the clogged toilet...I left my camera in the car hehe.
Anyways...last Thursday we had to take Nicho to the Urgent Care nearby because his allergies were so bad and he was wheezing ALOT during dinner. Long story short everything is fine now and the Doc said that Nicho looked and sounded great. Everything the Urgent care doctor did was exactly what he would have done and the medication and nebulizer saved him from getting "sicker". He has not been diagnosed with Asthma however we now have a nebulizer at home to treat in case we hear any more wheezing.

Bedtime

Normally I am getting ready for bed and school the next day but I had to blog about our evening. After our night time story I put Nicho in his crib and said "nite nite". I left him looking at books and then 10 minutes later I heard him say "ayeayeaye!!" so I went to check in on him and he had taken off his diaper because he "peed". I put a new diaper on him and said goodnight again. I left the daddy in charge of listening to him play and read books in his crib while I showered. While I was in the shower I heard "mom,mom,momma,momma...hey!" over and over again...it kinda reminded me of this:




Since I was in the shower and the daddy was in charge he went to see what Nicho was hollering about. A few seconds later the daddy walks into the bathroom while I am still showering and says "he is disgusting!!" I was confused..."what happened?" I asked. "He took off his diaper and flung it across the room!" (it had poop inside). At that point I was laughing hysterically in the shower. I could hear Nicho giggling in his room while the daddy had the pleasure of cleaning up the poopy mess, obviously my child does not like dirty diapers. I thought he was done pooping for the night because right before we had put his night time diaper on he went poo in the toilet...oh well. I thought it was funny that the daddy had to the "dooty" duty because I made sure and took extra long in the shower after that :)

Happy Labor Day

I hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing day :) After a busy weekend we all slept in this morning until 9 am. We woke up and had eggs, biscuits, bacon and berries for breakfast yum. Since Labor Day marks the end of summer Nicho is wearing his white shirt for the last time since it is illegal to wear white after Labor Day...right? Hehe. We spent all morning playing in his room and he has been silly like usual. John and I also have decided on a baby name for baby brother :) More on that later...

Happy Birthday "Leesie"

Yesterday was my niece Elise's birthday party, she turns 2 next week. Her and Nicho are only 3 months apart and I love to watch the two of them play together. He calls her "Leesie" and she calls him "My Nicho Pie" it is SO cute!!

I caught Nicho playing with "the boys" he is fascinated with skateboards already...along with loud motorcycles and any car with a loud exhaust...GEEZ!! ALL BOY!!

I caught him and we went on a little walk along the seawall, the water was so calm and beautiful!! It had just rained before we got there.

The birthday girl's cake, she loves Dora!

My brother got her a Dora bike for her birthday. This was one of her favorite gifts!! She also got tons of girlie dress up clothes and dress up SHOES!! She was in heaven!

Meet Nicho's New Sibling

Today was my 20 week ultrasound. We were able to see how well the baby is developing. Can you believe the baby weighs 12 ounces already?? Everything looked perfect and baby looks ready for January 2010. In case you were wondering...it looks like we are having another boy :) There is no doubting what we saw in the pictures, "he is not shy" as the Doctor jokingly said. My Nicho bear will have a baby brother!! We were all stunned because we actually believed it was a girl and I have been calling this baby a girl for the past 15 weeks or so. My gut feeling in the first month told me boy but then as my pregnancy progressed I second guessed myself and thought girl. I am looking forward to watching Nicho and his baby brother growing up together and being best buds!
