HAPPY HALLOWEEN

It was Halloween Eve and we started it out by carving a pumpkin. Nicho was a great helper.
We moved pumpkin carving outdoors in case it got messy...

Our Jack-o-Lantern :)

We took it outdoors to sit with Bob the Scarecrow
After pumpkin carving we got ready for some trick-or-treating in our neighborhood, we stopped off at our neighbor's house first
This picture didn't come out so well, we brought along the stroller because the houses in our neighborhood are so spread out and we didn't want Nicho to get too tired. We initially thought we would only be out 30 minutes...one hour and a half later we were finally done and that's because we only walked a total of 1.5 miles...2 blocks worth in our VERY hilly area...and in toddler pace!!
One of the houses that was decorated...we had to bypass a few houses that were decorated "scary" because we didn't want bear to have nightmares. One house we did stop by had a skeleton dressed in motorcycle gear sitting on the porch swing...we started to walk up to it and Nicho quickly said "no" and we turned away, John and I tried not to laugh because it was pretty funny. Alot of the neighbors were having block parties. One house we went up to looked like they were having WAY too much fun, the guy opened the door and was wearing a curly blonde wig in which I laughed out loud. They were having a Halloween party.
Daddy and Nicho
Mommy and Nicho..this house was neato!
Surprisingly it didn't scare Nicho. The owners had a fire pit in the front yard and had their flat screen outside and were watching the game as they passed out candy...too funny.
Finally home!! Nicho collected a full bag! He received tons of compliments on his Batman costume :) One person asked where Robin was and I just pointed to the belly and said he was sleeping :) We were all tired when we got home especially mommy and bear!! Nicho was asleep within 5 minutes after putting him to bed.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

What We Have Been Up To...

Well, pregnancy has finally hit me and lately I have been so sleepy in the early evenings. This is the first time this week I am actually on the home computer. My Nicho bear is having a sleep over tonight at the grandparent's house because I have an early doctor appointment tomorrow. I miss him already I can't sleep! Here are a few fun things that has happened this week:
Beautiful Sunday!
We spent it outdoors, Nicho loves riding his McQueen!

YAY for the rain! Our grass is green again!! We were being very conservative with the water this past summer due to the drought and thank God for rain!!
White Milk vs. Chocolate Milk...Nicho tried chocolate milk for the first time this past weekend...
As you can see white milk won. My nephew Jeremiah who is 7 years old is not a big fan of chocolate milk either...hmmm...
Nicho had his class Halloween party this past week. The two mom's in charge of the party did an AWESOME job!! One of the moms had stayed up way past midnight decorating cupcakes, cookies, and making sandwiches for these special kiddos! Talk about hard work! The cookies, cupcakes, and sandwiches looked like they had come straight out of a magazine. We didn't want to eat them they were so cute!! I WISH I would have taken pictures of them but I didn't!!!!! The party was a "Monster" theme so every cupcake, cookie, and even sandwiches were "monster" decorated. Oh and each child took home a "monster" goodie bag too. When Nicho's teacher made the announcement at the party that every parent would get a chance to host a party this year we all looked at each other in horror like "how would we top this one?" Thank goodness our next party will be a Thanksgiving feast so we will all bring in a dish so it will cut back some of the pressure, phew!
All of the costumes were adorable, starting from the left was a pirate, Batman (Nicho), dinosaur, fairy, and a Texas Tech linebacker.
The kiddos chowing down on "party food"
Nicho's teacher had some Halloween activities planned but all of the kids seemed more interested in the food and sat at the table the entire time and ate so we ran out of time.
Batman munching on a strawberry
Mommy made her first semi-homeade chicken pot pie...um yea the top crust kind of fell apart...
But...it still turned out wonderful and it tasted better than Marie Callendar's!
John and I have been so paranoid with germs lately and have been making all of our food instead of take out. The thought of someone sneezing, coughing, and then touching our food grosses us out!! Especially right now with all of the flu crap going around!!

Pumpkin Patch 2009

Today we went to Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls, Tx. My brother-in-law and his family joined us and we all had a blast. We got to Marble Falls a little early before the Pumpkin Patch opened so we burned some time and visited an old car restoration shop that John has been dying to see every time we pass and never stop. When we were finished we thought we would head off to the farm early being that it was only 12:30 and it opened at 1. We thought we would be the first ones there and would get ugly looks from the staff but we were NOT! In fact there was a line to get into the farm and it only kept growing as we sat there on the side of the road to get in...finally they started letting people in at 12:40ish. The weather was so nice and the sun was so bright! I didn't put sunscreen on and my face and neckline got burned! Luckily Nicho didn't get a sunburn! We had so much fun, two and a half hours later we finally left. We stopped to eat at Opie's bbq in Spicewood and it was SO YUMMY!! That is one of my new favorite bbq places now!! Everything was delish even the potato salad which I am VERY picky about! I have yet to find potato salad I like anywhere except for my Aunt Hope's :)
John thought this was the neatest thing there! Whoever built these two "creatures" was really creative in recycling old used car parts!

When we first arrived at the pumpkin patch we were greeted by two friendly horses
Whoa there Mr. Ed, keep your nose away from me!

Meet our scarecrow...he doesn't have a name yet.
Why do I have to sit by him? Can't he ride in the back?
Both the Scarecrow and Nicho were pooped before we even left the farm.

Here a some pictures from last year:

Happy Birthday Nicky!

Friday was my amiga Nicky's birthday! She is always there when I need to talk to someone or need her advice. Happy Birthday Nick!

Heart Walk 2009

Nicho playing frisbee with Bryan, Bryce, and Daddy after our walk. Melissa was off chatting away, she is such a social butterfly.

About a month ago John's friend Melissa asked if we would join her and her family at the Heart Walk, sure we said. She has a heart condition and we were happy to walk and support her and this great cause. After the walk we went over to Juan In A Million for breakfast. John and I had never been there but we saw the episode of Man vs. Food and it was featured on the show when they taped in Austin. Can I say this little hole in the wall restaurant on the East side of the ATX was AWESOME?! I had the migas and John had the "Don Juan". They serve very generously and we both still managed to eat everything on our plates because it was SO yummy!!

Baby Update

On Friday I had my monthly checkup...I was actually two weeks past because of having to reschedule twice due to other conflicts. Baby Noah is growing just fine and measured just right where he should be, his heartbeat sounded fine too. My next visit will be the Glucola test, yuck! Can't wait to drink my yummy orange drink...not! When I left I scheduled my next visit which will be in 2 weeks and then the receptionist asked if I wanted to go ahead and schedule the remainder 4 visits left...EEEK!! I was caught off guard, "really just 4 more visits?" So I have all my last visits scheduled and I am excited yet nervous at the same time! I didn't make my last visit with Nicho because he was 10 days early!
